How a Chemical Industry Career
Led to Conscious Consumption

For nearly a decade, I built my career inside the chemical industry—the beating heart of modern manufacturing. I learned the language of ingredients, supply chain distribution, and formulations that power everything from industrial compounds and coatings, to household cleaners, personal care, and supplements. On paper, it was success: corporate travel, titles, and a steady climb up the ladder. But behind the glossy surface, I started to notice something that didn't sit right.

I could read an ingredient list like a second language—and what I saw being used in mass production rarely aligned with what I wanted anywhere near my own body or home. Simultaneously, influencer marketing was igniting like wildfire.

After swiping up on a celebrity-recommended cosmetic only to realize upon receipt that it was similar to industrial paint formulas my customers were making, a spark ignited. If I could be fooled by the mass consumption, blind-buying market approach when I am attuned to ingredients, the average consumer has no idea how many hidden toxins they are using daily, and those recommending the products are teetering in a dangerous space of uneducated selling. The shift began quietly. I'd be sitting in meetings about new product launches or cost-saving substitutions and think: If the public knew what I know, would they still use this?

At the sametime, my personal life was unraveling under the weight of loss—both of my parents to cancer. In 2019, I sat in a doctor's office, exhaling in relief when my BRCA gene test came back negative. That moment cracked something open in me. It wasn't just genetics; it was environment, lifestyle, and exposure. The connection between the industrial chemicals I was selling and the toxins in our daily lives became impossible to ignore.

That was the collision of worlds—grief met awareness. My professional insight collided with my personal pain, and from that space of reckoning, TheCheekyClean was born.

What started as curiosity became a mission: to translate complex chemical language into simple, empowering choices. To help others become conscious consumers—people who ask better questions about what they buy, eat, and apply.

Today, TheCheekyClean isn't just a brand; it's a movement rooted in reclamation—proof that knowledge can transform loss into leadership. My career in chemicals gave me the tools. My parents' stories gave me the purpose. Conscious consumption is the bridge between the two. And together, in the intentional choices we make, we have the power to shift the norms to learn more, shop smarter, and live better.

Qualifications that Matter

Before TheCheekyClean was a brand, it was a perspective—one shaped by a decade working deep within the chemical industry. I spent years on the front lines of ingredient sourcing, formulation analysis, and product development for global manufacturers. My role required fluency in the chemistry behind the products that line our shelves—and that insider knowledge became my foundation for understanding what truly makes something clean, effective, or potentially harmful.

My approach is rooted in research, not rhetoric. Every product I evaluate goes through a multi-layered review process that mirrors the rigor of industry testing—only my standards are higher than the lacking regulations in our current market. I cross-reference ingredient decks against international safety databases, evaluate sourcing transparency, and consider the broader environmental and biological impact of each formulation. My background taught me to follow the data and the trail—where ingredients come from, how they're processed, and how they interact once they reach your skin or system.

Over the years, I've built a trusted network of formulators, toxicologists, and wellness practitioners who share my commitment to integrity in product creation. Together, we keep a pulse on evolving research, regulation gaps, and innovations in clean chemistry.

In parallel, my personal education in wellness, nutrition, and spirituality has expanded the lens through which I view the body—as a system that deserves nourishment, not just avoidance of harm. I've pursued continuing studies in holistic health, ingredient safety, and functional/ayurvedic nutrition to ensure that my "Cheeky Approved" standard isn't just chemical-free—it's biologically and energetically supportive.

I'm not just qualified by career—I'm qualified by curiosity, conviction, and care. TheCheekyClean standard exists to simplify what I've spent years decoding: products you can trust, ingredients you can pronounce, and choices that support your long-term well-being.

Building a Movement of Conscious Consumers

TheCheekyClean is more than a brand—it's a movement toward conscious consumption. To live consciously means to slow down and choose with awareness: to ask what's in the products we use, who made them, and how they affect our bodies and our planet.

The mission is to transform the wellness industry from the inside out—stripping away the marketing fluff, the toxins, and the overwhelm. When you know better, you choose better—and that's the real foundation of sustainable change.

Together, we're redefining what it means to be "well"—not just clean, but Cheeky enough to question, to learn, and to lead. We are the future revolutionizing consumption by living differently.

Education First

We believe the future belongs to brands and consumers who value education before sales. Knowledge is power.

Living TheCheekyClean Way

Living TheCheekyClean way means choosing alignment over autopilot—not being profited off of our productivity or purchases but to live from purpose, not fear. My personal philosophy is rooted in a daily practice of awareness, where wellness isn't a checklist but a rhythm that honors body, mind, and soul.

Body

Movement and nourishment that feel intuitive—lifting weights, flowing through yoga, fueling with local, seasonal foods, and supplementing consciously.

Mind

Making intentional, informed choices—not following trends, but aligning every decision with truth, integrity, and curiosity.

Soul

Stillness through daily meditation, journaling, and time in nature to return to faith in something greater.

Stepping away from the corporate world was one of the greatest risks I've taken, but it was also the most freeing. I chose to leave the comfort of convention to live in alignment with what I teach—to not just talk about better options, but build them.

Living lighter, healthier, longer isn’t about chasing perfection; it’s about living consciously, courageously, and cheeky—in full trust that real wellness begins when we choose purpose over performance, and community over conformity.

When our choices and daily habits are grounded in purpose, perfectionism doesn't exist because we are already whole, in complete faith that our decisions are leading us into our highest version. Most importantly, knowing that when something isn't working, we know it in our intuition and can gracefully begin again.

When I’m Not Reading Ingredient Labels

When I'm not immersed in formulations or decoding ingredient labels, you'll usually find me reconnecting with self, with nature, and with community. Reading, studying, and writing have always been my greatest portals of connection and peace—a way to translate inner truth into something that can reach and resonate with the collective.

I recharge outdoors, hiking with my dogs and feeling the spirit that exists in presence, beyond screens and schedules. Those quiet moments remind me why this work matters—because wellness begins in stillness, in remembering we are nature, too. Becoming a certified yoga teacher in 2025 has allowed me to translate this connection to my community, and teaching has become a way to build community as we commit to the process of growing together, which is a powerful force for evolution. My favorite classes to teach are the outdoor yoga for everybody donation-based classes with The Studio Cleveland. Less about the poses, more about bringing the medicine to a larger group collectively, in the beauty that surrounds us all.

Community keeps me inspired. I love meeting people who are living with passion and purpose, bringing their stories into our orbit through the RAW Podcast, and exploring culturally how we can all return to more natural states of being by learning from alternative lifestyles found in traveling, holistic health, and spirituality. Whether hosting workshops, offering demos, or collaborating with local businesses, I'm devoted to fueling the Cleveland community and beyond with education that empowers conscious, higher-quality living—the kind that's available to us all when we come together with intention.

Let’s connect.
